Cara Wagner, AIA is a designer at M1DTW, joining the practice in 2021. A registered architect, Cara graduated cum laude with a B.Arch from Virginia Tech in the same year. Her thesis explored how architecture can support ritualization of common human activity, revealing shared experiences and restoring dignity for all members of a community, earning semi-finalist recognition for Virginia Tech’s School of Architecture Thesis Honor Prize.
Cara has worked on a number of renovation projects at M1DTW, including Signal-Return at LANTERN, The Historic Blue Bird Inn for the Detroit Sound Conservancy, a pair of Mies van der Rohe Townhouses, 6 Salon in Birmingham, and the Library Street Collective Outpost (LSC—O).
Cara is currently serving on the AIA Michigan Board of Directors as the Young Architect Regional Director.
